Title: HOT BUTTERED RUM
Category: Other

Mary Kelly was tending bar on a cold Saturday afternoon when two people ordered this drink. She mixed a healthy dollop of the batter with hot water and served them their drink. They later each had a second and when Mary offered them a third they replied, "oh no, we are quite loaded enough." Please note when serving, that one must add RUM to make this drink. I think I gave this recipe to Christopher from a drink I remembered from Aspen.

1/4 c. ground nutmeg

2 tbs. ground cinnamon

2 tbs. ground allspice

1/4 c. vanilla

3 c. water

Instructions for preparation:
Blend all ingredients except the water and simmer ten minutes. Mix water in slowly, and simmer, stirring constantly, another ten minutes. This batter will keep forever, almost. One good teaspoon of this with hot water a slice of lemon, and some good Rum.
