Martin was one of the original partners of the bb. He, Christopher Blunt and Alan Shratter were National Merit Scholars that M.S.U. had recruited. Martin was "the wineguy" and has become an expert on wines of the first magnatude. Martin decided to learn about wine when he worked at the Cave of the Candles. He set about the task scientifically with a card file cross reference system of his own devising. In a short time he could describe most any wine in exquisite detail down to the type of soil the particular grape or grapes preferred. Many, many people owe their appreciation of fine wine today to Martin's unabashed and enthusiastic willingness to share his unmatched knowlege, (and, of course, much of his own wine).
